The Smell

In my workshop in Olomouc, every day smells of wood, lacquer, and good coffee. Since childhood I have been fascinated by the atmosphere of workshops – benches full of tools, piles of wood, iron and nails, sketches of all kinds of creations, and the scent of varnish and sawdust, where I loved to wade barefoot.

Today, every instrument is a personal challenge; from the choice of wood, through shaping the neck and body, to fine aesthetic details that influence not only the sound but also the soul of the guitar. I draw inspiration from history – from the first American archtops, through the Art Deco era, to the classic Martin-style dreadnoughts – always with respect for traditional techniques.

In the workshop every move is deliberate, every layer of finish applied with care, because only clean work brings joy and true satisfaction. Here I keep learning every day; I still feel like a student trying to grasp what real passion for craft truly means.

The Experience

Every guitar I create carries a part of my experience – decades spent in the workshop with chisels, saws, and planes. I love the moment when seasoned wood begins to take on shape, voice, and character under my hands. In the workshop, history meets creativitydrawings and notes of masters from the past serve as my guide, yet every guitar has a life of its own. That’s why I dislike copying, but I love interpreting time-tested models of guitars.

Jazz archtops, bluegrass flattops, and classical guitars are born with respect for tradition, but also with the joy of each detail that lights up the player’s eyes. Handwork, precision, cleanliness, love for the material – all of it can be heard in the very first chord I play on the instrument.

The workshop is my second home, the place where dreams of craftsmanship become tangible, and where music is born every day before the first note is even played.
